Arrest in Chipley - The alert actions of the Chipley Police
Department's K-9 Officer Scott Thompson resulted in the arrest
of an admitted methamphetamine dealer in the Chipley area.

Correctional Officer Arrested - As a result of a joint
effort by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the
Washington Correctional Institution, Correctional Officer Ivan
Duke Peters, 34 year old white male, was taken into custody
while on duty on the evening of Saturday, May 10, at the
Washington County Correctional Institution.
Master Gardener Graduation - Washington County's first ever
Florida Master Gardeners graduation will take place at the
Washington County Extension Office on May 21.
Senior Honors Day at BCF - Excitement filled the air as the
Baptist College of Florida graduating seniors and their families
gathered in the R. G. Lee Chapel last Wednesday for Senior
Honors Day.
Awards Day at RMS - Awards Day at Roulhac Middle School has
been scheduled for May 29.
Mature Driving Class - Washington County Council on Aging
and AARP are co-sponsoring a mature driving class for
individuals age 50 and over, May 21 and 22.

Proposed Changes to SR 79 - The Florida Department of
Transportation will hold a public information meeting regarding
proposed roadway improvements to SR 79 on Tuesday, May 20, at
the Oak Valley Opry in Vernon.

Fishing Day - Kids Fishing Day, for Washington County youth
16 years of age and younger, was held at a county-owned pond on
the Campbellton Highway Saturday.

Day at KMS - Kindergarten through second grade classes at
Kate Smith Elementary School participated in field day Friday.
