WHTC Holds Commencement Exercises

WHTC GraduationWashington-Holmes Technical Center held Commencement Exercises Tuesday night at the Washington County Agriculture Center in Chipley. 

WHTC Director Tommy SmithPat Salter played Pomp and Circumstance as the graduates entered the auditorium, as well as the Recessional at the end of the program. 

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Ivey McClain, Carpentry and Cabinetmaking instructor.  Bill Gunter, Student Services coordinator, gave the Invocation. 

WHTC Director Tommy Smith welcomed everyone, acknowledged the guests, introduced the School Board members and presented the faculty.

Washington County Superintendent Calvin StevensonHolmes County Superintendent Steve GriffinWashington County School Superintendent Calvin Stevenson was the evening's speaker, followed by comments from Holmes County School Superintendent Steve Griffin. 

Superintendent Calvin Stevenson (left) had to "change coats" to be the guest speaker. 

Stevenson, Griffin, Smith and WHTC Assistant Director Al Cox participated in the presentation of the certificates and diplomas. 

Stevenson conducted the Tassel Turning Ceremony, followed by closing remarks from Smith.
