Mark Drummond

Mark Drummond, 87, a loving father, grandfather,
great-grandfather, and brother, went home to celebrate
Christmas with his wife and Jesus on Friday, December 25,
2009.
Mark was born December 2, 1922, the son of John Drummond
and Vicie Lee Dudley. He served in the U.S. Army
during World War II and worked as a supervisor at Lehigh
until retiring in 1986. He married Eva Jean Amerson,
and she preceded him in death in 1997 after 48 years of
marriage. Mark was of the Pentecostal faith.
Mark loved to garden and always had a large turnip patch
and a plentiful harvest that he was able to share with
friends and family. He also loved to visit the local
creeks and ponds to catch ‘a mess’ of fish with his children
and grandchildren.
Survivors include six children: Dianne Broome and husband
Wayne, David Drummond, Pete Drummond, Patrick Drummond and
wife Michelle, Cathy Crider and husband Richard, and Chris
Drummond and wife Jill; 21 grandchildren, 24
great-grandchildren; two brothers: Orell Drummond and
Freddie Paul Drummond; and three sisters: Johnny Sue
Braxton, Hazel Thompson, and Betty Ann Drummond; and
numerous other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, five
brothers and five sisters.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday,
December 27, at Grace & Glory Worship Center in Chipley.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, December
28, at Grace & Glory Worship Center in Chipley.
Interment will follow at Lovewood Cemetery in Cottondale.
