William O. Drummond, 95, of Cottondale passed from this
life on Tuesday, December 29, in Dothan, Alabama.
He was born on March 8, 1914 in Campbellton to John Henry
and Vicie Lee (Dudley) Drummond. He was a lifelong
resident of Cottondale. He was of the Holiness faith
and a member of the Oak Grove Church of God. He was an
active farmer of 81 years up to the time of his death.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday,
January 2, at the Brown Funeral Home Chapel on Brickyard
Road with Rev. Pat Drummond, Rev. Kenneth Adkison and Rev.
Gwynn Hayes officiating. Interment will follow in the
Lovewood Cemetery with Brown Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 p.m. on
Friday, January 1, at Brown Funeral Home on Brickyard Road.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jimmie Lee Drummond
and daughter Marileigh Adkison.
He is survived by one son, Joe and wife Carolyn of
Cottondale; three daughters: Barbara and husband Leonard
Storm of Cottondale, Carolyn and husband Roy Kight of
Hazelhurst, Georgia, and Linda and Armin Alexander of
Cottondale; one brother, Freddie Paul Drummond of Sneads;
three sisters: Hazel Thompson of Jacksonville, Johnnie Sue
Braxton of Winter Haven and Betty Ann Drummond of
Cottondale; 23 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
