Willie James Barefield, age 69, of Chipley died Tuesday,
February 2, at his home.
A native of Headland, Alabama, he had been a resident
here for the past three years. He was a farmer, a U.S.
Army veteran and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his mother, Willie Mae Barefield; his
wife, Louverne Barefield of Chipley; three sons: Willie Joe
Barefield and wife Cherry of Chipley, Larry Barefield and
wife Jennie of Chipley, and Clint Barefield and wife Candy
of Bonifay; two brothers: Jimmy Barefield of Headland and
Jessie Barefield of Midland City, Alabama; five sisters:
Bulah Mae Davis of Headland, Mabel Hutto of Headland, Sarah
Brannon of Headland, Pam Roberts of Sarasota, and Betty
Davis of Headland; six grandchildren; and three great
grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m.
at Brown Funeral Home, Brickyard Road. Funeral
services will be held Sunday, February 7, at 2 p.m. in the
chapel of Brown Funeral Home, Brickyard Road, with the Rev.
Ernest Dupree and Bishop John Gilbert officiating.
Interment will follow in the Wachob-Forrest Lawn Cemetery.
