Rufus W. Haddock

Rufus W. Haddock, 95, of Chipley went home to be with the
Lord on January 30 at his residence surrounded by a host of
family that loved him dearly.
Mr. Haddock was born March 14, 1914 to Homer and Attie
Haddock. He was a lifelong resident of Washington
County where he spent most of his life working on the farm.
He spent several years in the United States Army where he
served in WWII in the Men of Company K 84th Infantry Rail
Splitter Division. He was a member of Sapp Holiness
Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge #102 in Cottondale.
Most of all he was a loving father and grandfather that held
the Haddock family together.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lettie
Haddock; son, James Haddock and his wife Arlene; two infant daughters; three
brothers: Jim, Pat and Perry Haddock; two sisters: Marie
Wright and Mary Rudd; grandson, Bruce Lindahl; and great
grandson, David VanDivner, Jr.
He is survived by a son, Thomas "Tom" Haddock and wife
Ella Dean of Southport; grandchildren: Shelby Haddock
Wilkinson, Joe Haddock and wife Tammy, James "Jimbo"
Haddock, Jr. and wife Sheila, Donald Ray Haddock, Sr., Janey
Sue Haddock Clements and husband Billy, Elizabeth Ann
VanDivner, Sherry Lynn Haddock Guthrie and husband Richard,
Thomas "T-Bud" Haddock, Jr. and wife Vicky, Jerry Lindahl
and wife Chris, Steve Lindahl and wife Belinda, and Len
Lindahl and wife Sue; 26 great grandchildren; 43 great-great
grandchildren; and four great-great-great grandchildren
which completes six generations.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday,
February 3, at Sapp Holiness Church with the Revs. Cloys
Joiner, Houston Obert, Preston Haddock, Frances Dudley,
Donnie Jackson and Roger Dale Hagan officiating.
Burial will follow in Rockhill Cemetery with
Obert Funeral
Home of Chipley directing.
Family will receive friends 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, February
2, at Sapp Holiness Church.
