John M. Morrow

John M. Morrow departed this life to be with the Lord on January 31 at his home surrounded by family and friends. 

John was born in High Springs, but lived most of his life in Graceville. 

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 3, at First Baptist Church in Graceville with Dr. Jerry Windsor and Rev. Tim Folds officiating.  Burial will follow in Marvin Chapel Cemetery with James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville directing.  In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the van fund at the First Baptist Church in Graceville, P.O. Box 565, Graceville, FL 32440 or to Covenant Hospice, 4440 Lafayette St., Suite C, Marianna, FL 32440. 

He graduated from Graceville High School and attended Chipola Junior College, then studied agriculture and poultry management at Iowa State University.  He was in the poultry industry in the Graceville area for 25 years where he was associated with Cloverdale Farms, Greenwood Products Company and Chipola Cattle Company as general manager and president.  He spent the last 15 years of his career in retail sales in the Graceville and Dothan area.  He was an active member of Graceville First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, a former brotherhood director and a member of the Comeback Sunday school class.  He was an active member of the Graceville Lion's Club and served as secretary for many years.  He had been a member of the Graceville Arts League since its inception.  He served as secretary of the Graceville Area Development Council for several years. 

Preceding him in death were his parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Morrow, Sr.; sister, Frances Morrow Taylor; brother, Joe L. Morrow; and his mother- and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. George Dewey Peel. 

He is survived by his wife of 47-1/2 years, Jeannette P. Morrow; one son, William D. "Bill" Morrow and wife Sandra of Graceville; daughter, Anna M. Thomas of Slocomb, Alabama; grandson, Wesley Dalton Morrow of Bainbridge, Georgia; three step-grandchildren: Austin and Justin Deacon and Jessica Pugh, all of Villa Rico, Georgia; two brothers: George W. Morrow, Jr. and wife Cleo of Denison, Texas, and Andrew J. "Andy" Morrow of Albuquerque, New Mexico; two brothers-in-law: Mack C. Peel of Louisville, Alabama, and Thomas B. Peel and wife Jean of Dothan, Alabama; two sisters-in-law: Virginia Fountain of Dothan, Alabama, and Betty McGilvray of Troy, Alabama; special friend of the family, Dr. Andrew Orestano of New Orleans, Louisiana; numerous nieces and nephews; and caregivers: Mary Taylor (niece), Ben Beall and Willie Nix with Covenant Hospice of Marianna. 

Pallbearers are nephews: George Allen "Skip" Taylor, Jerry Stevenson, Greg Benton, Greg McGregor, Ronny Peel, Bill Scroggins, Stan McGilvrary, and Greg Peel.  Honorary pallbearers are deacons of First Baptist Church, members of the Comeback Sunday school class, Jerry Cordell, Danny Pitts, Lee Miller, Tommy Johnson, Tom Heisler, and R. L. Price, Jr.
