Lucille Austin Sheffield

Mrs. Lucille "Mandy" Austin Sheffield, age 87, a former
resident of Vernon, passed away February 6 in Savannah,
Georgia.
She was born August 9, 1922 in Vernon to the late
Columbus Gerald and Mary Jane Bodie Austin.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sheffield was preceded
in death by her husbands: Tonny Dalton Holstead and Fred
Sheffield; two sons: Teddy Gene Holstead and Curtis Wilder
Holstead; two daughters: Teresa Cooper and Catherine Lee
Holstead; three brothers: Fred Austin, Sam Austin, A. G.
Austin; one sister, Melbra Wright.
Mrs. Sheffield is survived by two sons: Bill Holstead and
wife Mary of Belton, South Carolina, and Tony Holstead of
South Bend, Indiana; five daughters: Clara Withrow of
Savannah, Georgia, Marie Fry of Vernon, Nila Barrier of
Elkhart, Indiana, Dina Rajski and husband Mrtin of South
Bend, Annette Fielding of Vernon; one brother, Reubin Austin
and wife Rose Mary of Vernon; two sisters: Vonceil Martin of
Vernon and Amy Tomaio of Pensacola; 70 grandchildren and
great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 10,
at Unity Baptist Church and Cemetery with Rev. Lindsey
Martin and Rev. Burt Worthing officiating and Peel Funeral
Home of Bonifay directing.
