Joe Bill Flournoy, 74, of Fadette, Alabama, passed away
Thursday, January 28.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Sunday, January 31, at
the Chapel of James & Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis
Singletary officiating. Burial will follow in Wrights
Creek Cemetery with James & Lipford Funeral Home in
Graceville directing. Family received friends at the
funeral home Saturday, 4 to 8 p.m.
Mr. Joe, affectionately called "King and Mayor of
Fadette," was born in Geneva County on December 24, 1935 to
the late Daniel Lee and India Skipper Flournoy. He
retired from Gold Kist Peanut Corp. following over 25 years.
An avid golfer and Bama football fan, Mr. Joe was known for
his "gift of gab" and visiting with anyone who would take
the time to talk to him. He will be missed by all who
knew him.
He was preceded in death by one son, Glenn Flournoy.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Bobbie; two children:
Paul Flournoy and wife Sherolyn, and Kay Capps and husband
Mark; brother, Bobby Flournoy; sister, June Cooley; 12
grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.
