Mr. Thomas McDonald, Sr. of Vernon passed away Friday,
January 15, in the Clifford Chester Sims Veterans Home.
He was a native of Bay County, of the Baptist faith, and
a veteran of the US Army.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January
19, at Shiloh Baptist Church in Vernon with Rev. Price
Wilson, Rev. Marcellous Willis, Rev. James Barker and Rev.
George Williams officiating. Interment will follow in
the Sylvania Cemetery in Vernon with military honors.
Survivors include his children: Charles McDonald, Sr.
(Pearl), James McDonald (Jeanetta), Larry McDonald, Ellis
McDonald, Shirley Speed, Carol Lee (William), Jean Morgan
(Joseph), Vickery McDonald, Jameeia As-Siddig, Donna Shine
(Ruben), Dorothy McDonald (Marcus), Eric McDonald (Beth),
and Eleanor Myers (Leroy); sister, Leatha Clark; brother,
David McDonald; 35 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren;
and many other relatives and friends.
The remains will lie in repose at the church one hour
prior to services, with Cooper Funeral Home of Chipley
directing.
